Distributed ERP

What is Distributed ERP?

Also known Distributed Enterprise Resource Planning, Distributed ERP refers to an ERP system that is implemented through the distribution of data, processes, and functionalities across multiple servers or nodes. This utilizes cloud computing, edge computing, and/or blockchain technology. It is scalable, redundant and hence, reliable, includes geographical flexibility, and data security. In addition, it reduces the downtime in case of rare hardware failures. Its local autonomy results from the different departments and business units that are connected to a central system.
