OPT and H-1B Visa Sponsoring
OPT
This is known as the Optional Practical Training, which is a period where international students in the United States with F-1 student visas can work in their field of study to gain practical experience. It is a form of temporary employment authorization that allows students to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting.
- First step: the student requests an OPT recommendation from his/her/their DSO (Designated School Official) at his/her/their educational institution.
- Second step: the student files Form I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization) with USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services), which they will process.
- Third step: the student receives an EAD (Employment Authorization Document), which will specify the start and end dates of the OPT period.
H-1B
